Last week I got to visit Denver’s The Tattered Cover – one of the great indie bookstores. The weekend before I arrived, the store celebrated its 40th birthday. I was in town for work and couldn’t have been happier to learn that their LoDo location is directly across the street from my office. Being on Eastern time, I was in the door each morning no later than 7AM for coffee and browsing. Yes, they were open.
I went with my extensive “to buy” list. The books I actually bought, however, were all books that I hadn’t heard of before. I stumbled across this new stack of books by browsing and checking out their excellent staff recommendations. It’s how book buying is supposed to work. If you find yourself in Denver, you must check them out.
