It brings back memories of the bookstore I loved as a child. It was filled with books old and new on dusty wooden shelves and had a Coke machine in the back. I spent hours upon hours there. It encapsulates the reasons so many of us love independent bookstores, and the feelings we have for those we love. I've been fortunate to find them in the places I've lived: Books & Books in Miami, Politics & Prose in Washington, D.C., and now Malaprop's in Asheville, NC. Each of these helped me build a community that had books as its glue, but was (and is, in Malaprop's case) about much more. Thanks for sharing your bookstore crush. Oh, I'm a marketer by profession, although never as lucky as the fortunate Russ to be able to connect marketing with books and bookstores, other than by aggressively talking up the books I like to anyone who will listen.
