Banned Book Week
This week is Banned Books Week. Be sure to check out the American Library Associations information page, including the annual Most Challenged Books List. Read one or two. In light of this week’s terrorism attack on a London publisher, it seems more important than ever to exercise your freedom of speech.

In an amazing display of progress, the Gwinnett County Public Library (singled out for abuse in “Gwinnett is the New Cobb”) is hosting the Gwinnett Reading Festival 2008. Formerly heckled for their xenophobia, the reading festival web site now includes a radio commercial in Vietnamese. I know! Hats off, Gwinnett. I herewith suspend hostilities.
