Separated at Birth?
If you’ll recall, Richard Blais was signing the Top Chef Cookbook at Wordsmiths last weekend. That was fresh in my mind when I started reading Tom McCarthy’s Tintin and the Secret of Literature on the bus yesterday morning. Suddenly it hit me – those two were separated at birth. Exhibit A:

Forget that. He needs to get his agent on the phone with Spielberg to cast him in the lead role of the upcoming Tintin movies.

i actually suggest tintin get on top of playing Richard in ‘Top Chef: The Movie”, which will be followed, naturally, by Top Chef: The Musical.

You’re right! Much better than calling him “Willie Wonka.” How was Mr. Blais? I had planned to attend, but had to make a hospital visit instead.

Blais was *astounding*. Originally on an hour schedule, he stayed from his quick-start time of 2:05 until about 3:50, answered any and every question put to him, and seemed genuinely grateful for the hometown hero welcome
