Seattle Tips
Posting is light today as I’m scrambling to get things done before leaving town next week. I’ll be heading out to Seattle for a work-related conference. I’ll have my evenings free, and I’m looking for suggestions for how to best occupy my time. I’ve already slated visits to the Elliott Bay Book Co., the Roq La Rue Gallery, and the Pyramid Alehouse. What other cultural highlights should I try to squeeze in while I’m there? I’m staying downtown without a car. Thanks!

The Elysian Brewpub. It’s been named the best brewpub in American like, I don’t know, 167 times or something. They’re famous for their lavender IPA, which sounds bizarre, but is remarkably tasty, as are all their beers. They also have dozens of great bottles, food, and as a bonus, it’s also a great space: big, open, airy, former factory or something. I loved it.
It’s in a funky neighborhood near downtown, but Seattle, when you factor out Tahoma (or whatever that area by the airport is called) is actually a very small city. So it might be a five-minute cab ride.
I also liked their rock and/or roll museum. Cool design, plus lots of interactive stuff (you can play guitars) and local scene memorabilia.

Oops. So famous I forgot what’s in it. That would be jasmine IPA.
