		<description>Oh, so THAT&#039;S who Rob Sheffield is. I totally recognize that guy from the 4 million music shows he&#039;s appeared in. 

Glad he touched on the process of making a mix tape. I think many people just look at the finished product, but it really was an art in that you had to consider the tone, the flow, the length of each song, how to end and begin each side -- I think the real joy in a mix tape was actually making it; the product itself was really secondary.

While I&#039;m down with the now as far as the iPod and mP3s and whatnot, I still make mix tapes. My car stereo, for some reason known only to Germans, came with a cassette player, so it&#039;s still fun to hear the fruits of my labor, or go back and listen to what was going through my mind in, say &#039;97.

And if it makes you feel any better, Rob, I&#039;m sure at least one of my tapes had some G. Love as well. Ah, the &#039;90s. The wretched, wretched &#039;90s.</description>
