Amy Said Yes! Then – No.

I ran down to the Decatur Rec center on Friday night to check out the always foxy Amy Sedaris, actor, comedian, and author of I Like You: Entertaining Under the Influence. My in-laws were in town, so I had to leap up from dinner and sprint down the road in order to arrive 20 minutes late. I missed the Feed & Seed Marching Abominable band leading Ms. Sedaris into the rec center.  I missed her craft demonstration.  I didn’t skate in until the Q&A. I could hear the laughter from outside of the building. Seriously. There were somewhere between 400-500 people in the center. It was crazy.

The Wordsmiths’ gang kept things nice and orderly for the signing. I was amazed. There were no mad dashes for Amy’s table. No tripping or poking of the eyes. A well-behaved crowd. Was Amy upset that I arrived late? Not at all. In fact, we’re now engaged (see below). I thought that this made me special (look – she’s cracking me up!), but then I read the Wordsmiths’ post on the event. It seems that Amy may be betrothed to Wordsmiths’ John Divine as well.  Apparently, Ms. Sedaris is handing out her affections like party favors. Was it my daughter’s pink pony tail holder on my finger that suggested to Amy that our relationship might be “complicated”?

That’s a fantastic shot. You two look like a real cute couple, even if she is cheating on you.
