I think McCarthy’s next book ought to be a post-apocolyptic tale in which a father and son are the last survivors on Earth and come upon a library in which the only books to read are by Pynchon.

Open question: Does The road now become a self-fulfilling prophecy – i.e., Oprah picking The Road must surely be one of the signs of the apocalypse (my Revelations is a little rusty)….
