It’s all about the Marfa
As you may know, Marfa, TX is the home of the unofficial poet laureate of BGB. Marfa is also the proposed location of the first BGB book festival, literary conference, and indie rock fair – BGBcon:07 (I’m working on my rhymes for the adult open poetry slam). While we’re off making plans, Hollywood has come to Marfa in a big way. The Coen Brothers have been in Marfa filming their adaptation of Cormac McCarthy’s No Country for Old Men. While down the road, Paul Thomas Anderson was filming There Will Be Blood, which is based on the Upton Sinclair book Oil!. Back in the day, the James Dean classic Giant was also filmed in Marfa. The town will not be phased when we show up is what I’m saying.

I wonder if Cessac is letting all the film crews crash at his place while they’re there filming. You know, like he’s going to let all of us crash at his place for BGBPalooza.

I just hope that the Brown Recluse is big enough to accomodate The Arcade Fire and all of their equipment. We hope to announce soon that they will be headlining the indie music porion of BGBcon:07.
