Mark Haddon of The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night Time fame has a new book coming soon called A Spot of Bother. The Guardian has an excerpt that does not feature any mention of A Level maths.
Richard Ford’s forthcoming The Lay on the Land is previewed excerpt-style at the New Yorker.
According to the Paper of Record, Marisha Pessl is still hot. More on this story as it develops. Excerpts of Special Topics in Calmity Physics here and here (with pictures and potential spoilers).

Did you hear that Richard Ford is scheduled to speak at the Margaret Mitchell house this fall?
And are you still enjoying your Marisha Pessl crush?

I have heard that Richard Ford will be there. I’m excited to check it out, which means it should be a mortal lock that I will be out of town for work that night.
Pessl is dreamy…

I met Richard Ford the year Independence Day won the Pulitzer. The regional Random House sales rep knew I loved him and brought him by the bookstore I was managing. He was very warm and gracious and I treasure my signed 1st edition of ID. I can’t wait to see him at the Margaret Mitchell house! He hung the moon.

It sounds like there will be quite the showing when Mr. Ford comes to town. We’ll have to meet and greet before and/or after the reading. I’ll be the good looking guy hovering between the beer and snacks tables.

Well, then, you’ll be on my turf, man! I’m looking forward to meeting you.
