Shortbus Chimes In
Clearly I haven’t gotten into the habit of posting, but I have turned a few good pages this year. Here is my top 6 list, not necessarily in order, and not necessarily books published in 2005:
Extremely Loud and Incredibly Close
Olive, My Love
The Plot Against America
Harry Potter VI
Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants (go ahead and read all three)
The Tender Bar

Is that second one about your dog?

I believe it is about her dog. Written by her other dog.

I can’t believe you guys claim to enjoy true literature and don’t know this. Olive, My Love is the long awaited sequel to Olive, the Other Reindeer, by j Otto Siebold. If you’ve never read Olive, the Other Reindeer, you’re just plain ignorant.

Oh, my bad. Apparently it’s about her reindeer. Probably written by her other reindeer.

DR J, I have it on good authority that Shortbus’s dog, Olive, was named after the canine hero of the “Olive, My Love” and “Olive, The Other Reindeer” books, due to the pup’s remarkable likeness to the star.

Good god, people, is this why I vowed to keep up with the blog this year? But Shortbus, I might want to borrow that Olive, My Love book.

Sorry, weezie, after all this publicity, you’ll have to get in line.
